Cyprus continues to break records with Israel at the top of source markets.

According to data from Hermes Airports for the first half of 2025, approximately 5.7 million passengers passed through the island's airports, marking an 11.6% increase compared to the same period last year.

Israel ranks third in the list of leading markets, following the UK and Greece, ahead of Poland, Germany, and Italy.

Tel Aviv Among Major Destinations

Israel is not only among the leading source markets: Tel Aviv is the second most popular destination for flights from Cyprus, after Athens and before London Gatwick, Thessaloniki, Manchester, and Heathrow. The high demand and frequent routes between Tel Aviv and Larnaca/Paphos reflect strong tourist and economic ties between the countries.

Larnaca Leads, But Paphos Also Significant

Larnaca Airport recorded over 4 million passengers in the first half of the year, while Paphos Airport handled approximately 1.57 million passengers.

The Cypriot aviation authority explains that the figures reflect both a strong recovery and growth of Cypriot tourism, thanks to campaigns, budget airlines, and close cooperation with travel agents in Israel and Europe.
