Lufthansa Group returns to Israel; SWISS flights to resume in September, while Eurowings remain suspended until the end of October.
After a prolonged pause due to security concerns and regional tensions, Lufthansa Group has officially announced its return to normal operations in Israel starting August 1. This news brings significant relief to Israeli travelers and the tourism sector, which has faced severe challenges in recent months.
With Lufthansa's comeback, extensive operations are expected to resume on routes between Israel and Europe, with a total of 44 weekly flights in the first phase, including Austrian Airlines resuming flights to Tel Aviv on August 1 and Brussels Airlines from August 13.
The Swiss company SWISS, which had announced a suspension of flights until the end of October, now states it will resume by September 29. However, Eurowings, also part of the Lufthansa Group, has announced its continued suspension of flights to Israel until the end of October, adding complexity to the aviation map in Israel for the coming months.
Lufthansa's return brings renewed hope for passengers and the industry, but SWISS and Eurowings' decisions emphasize that caution remains necessary, and recovery is a gradual, ongoing process.
