Budapest Airport has commenced a comprehensive renovation of Taxiway G, which services aircraft operating near Terminal 1.

The multi-phase project will run until summer 2026, addressing aging pavement, utility systems, and outdated infrastructure.

The renovation will include the construction of 17,000 square meters of basalt concrete pavement, drainage systems, culverts, and the modernization of lighting and navigation systems, including floodlights and airfield guidance.

As part of the VINCI Airports network, Budapest Airport emphasizes sustainability: approximately 99% of demolished materials will be recycled, minimizing waste and reducing transport-related CO₂ emissions through certified reuse.
