Following security incidents at the Thailand-Cambodia border, and after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a warning to Israeli travelers, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced the temporary closure of several border crossings and nearby tourist sites in the eastern and northeastern regions of the country.

However, the Thai Tourism Office in Israel clarifies that all of Thailand, except for this specific border area, is calm and safe for tourists.

According to the announcement, the Thai military has closed most of the crossings at the border with Cambodia, and at the same time, national parks and tourist sites in the border areas have also been closed. These are remote areas that are not on the regular tourist path for travelers from Israel.

Recommended areas to avoid include:

- Khao Phra Viharn Park and the border near the towns of Kantharalak and Phu Sing (Si Sa Ket Province)

- Historical sites in Surin Province, including Prasat Ta Muen and Ta Kwai

- Border areas in the southern provinces of Ubon Ratchathani, Buriram, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat.

Travelers are requested not to visit viewpoints, nature reserves, and historical sites located near the border until further notice.

The Thai Tourism Office emphasizes that major cities and resorts like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui, and others continue to operate normally and are unaffected by the events at the eastern border.
