Milano may be known for fashion, design, and business, but in summer, it transforms into a lively hub of leisure, culture, and urban vacations. Featuring hidden pools in the city's heart, luxurious spas near San Siro, restaurants that will make you fall in love with Italian cuisine again, and vintage car tours that take you back to the 60s - we've gathered the most unique spots you shouldn't miss. Don't forget the top rooftop venues in the city, where you can chill with a cocktail and enjoy the stunning view of the Duomo.

Hot Swimming Spot

Bagni Misteriosi

Translated freely from Italian, the place is known as "The Mysterious Bath Rooms." It's a unique complex in Milano that serves as a public swimming pool, but with the style that only Italians can offer.

The complex, built over 80 years ago during a restoration process, has become a must-visit site for Milano visitors, especially in the summer. It features Milano's most beautiful outdoor pool, surrounded by lush greenery, creating a magical countryside feel within the urban setting of Milano.

The location hosts many activities, performances, and aperitivo evenings in the summer to connect locals with the place's history. It's a perfect spot to cool off from the European summer heat.

Spa

De Montel

A luxurious spa and the only thermal park in Milano. Located right in front of San Siro Stadium. De Montel was built as a brilliant architectural idea on the site of the historic Liberty stables. A health and beauty complex with 10 different pools (including thermal), saunas, massage rooms, facial treatments, relaxation areas, and a park. You can spend an entire day here.

The complex also has Italian food restaurants and regular events like yoga and meditation. Its advantage is being less than a 30-minute trip from central Milano, including public transportation.

Restaurant

Portrait

One of the city's most magical spots - Portrait Restaurant is located in front of Del Quadrilatero Square. The restaurant allows you to disconnect and experience an authentic Italian local experience as only the locals know how to do best. It is an exquisite restaurant celebrating authentic Italian cuisine. In the afternoon, the restaurant also offers excellent aperitivo alongside snacks.

Restaurant

Risoelate

As soon as you enter the restaurant, you feel like you're in a time tunnel leading straight to an Italian grandmother's house. The restaurant's walls are adorned with old pictures telling its story, while the furniture has been hand-restored to maintain a classic vintage look.

The restaurant offers a culinary experience with Milanese dishes (based on Milano's cooking style) that locals love, such as cotoletta, ossobuco, and risotto. The restaurant is located in the city center, between Piazza del Duomo and Castello Sforzesco, and is famous for its vintage design, evoking a nostalgic 60s atmosphere. The menu changes daily, offering various pasta, meat, and fish dishes, with each dish carefully prepared using fresh ingredients.

Tour

Vintage Car

The fashion and style city has another way to discover its treasures - not by foot and without the effort: a tour in a classic vintage red Fiat 500 car around the city with a driver. You can take the tour during the day or night, to the city center or the Navigli district's canal neighborhood. Half an hour for fun, or alternatively two and a half hours to see all Milano has to offer.
