The official statistics from airport management highlight the demand strength:
- Over 45,000 flight movements are expected throughout the summer
- In the first weekend alone, around August 1-3, approximately 425,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airport
This summer, Munich is connected to about 210 destinations worldwide, across 67 different countries, making it one of the major and connected airports in Europe.
The Most Popular Destinations:
Italy - leads with approximately 420 weekly departures
Spain - in second place with about 320 flights every week
The USA, Canada, and Asia - together account for part of approximately 2,350 long-haul flights, with an emphasis on destinations like New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Bangkok, and Tokyo.
During the summer, Munich Airport is prepared with reinforced service teams, additional check-in counters, and an improved passenger experience - including lounge options, new restaurants, and an advanced logistical setup.
