The Polish airline LOT Polish Airlines launches a new tourism initiative called LOT Stopover, allowing international travelers to stop in Warsaw for 1 to 8 days during their flight and enjoy a rewarding package of discounts and various benefits.
According to the company, which resumed its flights last Friday on the Tel Aviv - Warsaw route, this is an ideal opportunity to discover Poland, and especially Warsaw, its capital, without paying for an additional flight. The service is available to passengers whose flight does not originate from Poland, meaning that the layover in Warsaw can become an integral part of the entire trip.
Here's how it works:
When booking a round-trip flight on the company's website, if the route is suitable, the option to add the LOT Stopover in Warsaw service will appear. At this stage, you can choose how many days to stay in Warsaw before continuing to the next destination. After payment, passengers gain access to exclusive benefits from over 12 business partners – in the fields of culture, entertainment, dining, and transportation.

25% off domestic flights in Poland for those wanting to continue to destinations such as Krakow, Gdansk, Lublin, and more; 30% off a traditional Polish meal served on the flight; valuable discounts at tourist sites, museums, restaurants, and local attractions.
The move by LOT Airlines, represented in Israel by Open Sky, comes as part of a global trend among airlines to turn layovers into a full experience and mainly try to extend the time passengers spend in the airline's home countries.
LOT has stated that the initiative aims to "allow passengers to experience Poland in an accessible, easy, and cost-effective way without sacrificing their final destination." The company promises a combined, quality travel experience at an especially attractive price.
The Stopover program in Warsaw can serve as a bridge for tourists looking to combine a brief visit to one of Europe's classic and rejuvenating cities with another destination in Eastern or Western Europe, North America, or even Asia.
