ACI Report: Cyprus Shows Exceptional Growth in Air Routes in Europe.
The Cyprus Tourism Office recently released impressive data from the latest report by Aviation Council International (June 2025), showing that Cyprus ranks first in Europe for improving its air connectivity for 2025, with an 18% increase compared to the previous year, and second compared to 2019, with a total growth of 22%.
Top 10 Countries: Cyprus Leads
According to the report, Cyprus ranks first among European countries in air connectivity improvement for the past year (2025 compared to 2024), ahead of countries like Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Slovenia. Compared to the pre-COVID era (2025 versus 2019), it is positioned second, after Greece.

The Cypriot Tourism Office noted that this is another achievement reflecting the continuous investment in boosting tourism traffic and strategic partnerships with European and international airlines. Additionally, the airport infrastructure, marketing efforts, and ease of island access continue to contribute to this improvement.
The report strengthens Cyprus's position as an accessible, sought-after, and growing destination. In recent years, the country has worked to attract new air routes, streamline passenger processes, and brand itself as an attractive year-round destination, combining beaches, history, cuisine, and Mediterranean comfort and hospitality.
