IAG Group reported that its low-cost subsidiary, Vueling, will receive all 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft ordered in 2022.

The order includes 25 MAX 8-200 and 25 MAX 10 aircraft, with deliveries starting at the end of 2026.

"We allocated the 50 Boeing 737 aircraft we ordered to Vueling," confirmed IAG Group CEO, Luis Gallego, during the company’s second-quarter and first-half report.

Among the aviation group’s accomplishments in the first half of the year: an 8.0% increase in revenues to €15,906 million, a 43.5% increase in operating profit to €1,878 million, and €1.5 billion in cash returns to shareholders by 2025.

The new planes will be a significant change for Vueling, which currently operates a fleet of 143 Airbus A320 family aircraft. The move reflects IAG Group's strategy to strengthen its presence in the vibrant European low-cost market, dominated by Ryanair.
