Airport Strike in Portugal: Anticipated Delays and Cancellations

Planning to fly to or from Portugal soon? Be aware of the strike announced by the ground services company Menzies, which provides services to many airlines, including El-Al.

According to the announcement by Portugal's airports, the strike will occur from August 8-11; August 15-18; August 22-25; and August 29-September 1. These are some of the busiest days at various airports in the country, including the capital, Lisbon.

The next El-Al flight may be affected by the strike, as it is scheduled for Monday, August 11, within the strike's date range.

Airports are warning of numerous delays and flight cancellations expected due to the strike. Naturally, there will also be delays in baggage handling at the airports. Lisbon Airport recommends contacting the airline you are flying with before arriving at the airport.
