United Airlines is collaborating with Apple TV+ to provide passengers with free access to full seasons of popular original series during flights.

The content will be available both on seatback screens and the United app, including series such as Severance, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, and Silo. By September, The Morning Show and Bad Sisters will also be included.

This initiative is part of United's broader investment in enhancing the in-flight viewing experience, which includes installing seatback screens in all its airplanes as part of the United Next growth plan.

In the coming years, United is expected to have more than 300,000 screens across its fleet, surpassing any other American airline. This includes 27-inch 4K OLED screens with Bluetooth connectivity, the largest among US airlines.

United will continue to add new series, movies, and documentaries each month, providing more than 250 episodes and original productions.

Passengers can start a show on a short flight and resume from where they left off on their next flight, or binge-watch an entire season on long-haul trips.

In previous collaborations with Apple, United integrated live flight updates for iPhone and Apple Watch, enhanced baggage tracking with AirTag integration, and equipped air and ground staff with iPhone and iPad devices to improve passenger service.

Mark Muren, Director of Product, Identity, and Loyalty at United: "Apple creates groundbreaking original series, and United passengers will love watching Apple Originals for free on their next flight. We're setting a new standard for premium in-flight experiences, and the unique connection with Apple TV+ offers passengers more quality viewing options on our advanced seatback screens."
