"Race for the Route": Delta Air Liines, expected to resume its route between Tel Aviv and New York at the end of the month, is launching a sort of "reality show" by allowing customers (SkyMiles members) and employees to vote: Which European destination will join the map for summer 2026?

Currently, the company flies to more than 300 destinations, and just this summer, several new ones were added, including Catania in Sicily. Now, another Mediterranean island is expected to join the game—that is, the American airline's route map. Between August 25 and 29, SkyMiles members, Delta's loyalty club, will be able to vote in the app.

The contenders are Sardinia in Italy, the popular Malta, which has seen significant tourism growth in recent years, and Ibiza, Spain's famous party island.

Pole Baldoni, Senior Vice President at Delta Air Lines: "SkyMiles members and Delta people are at the heart of everything Delta does. 'Race for the Route' celebrates their influence, giving our community a voice on where they want to fly next and inviting them to help shape Delta's global network."
