Massive Investment from Korean Air. According to a company announcement, an agreement was signed yesterday (August 25th) in Washington, D.C. between the company's executives and the CEO of Boeing, along with leaders from GE Aerospace (engine suppliers).
The total investment is estimated at approximately $50 billion, including $36.2 billion for Boeing aircraft, $690 million for 19 engines, and an additional $13 billion for a 20-year engine maintenance service contract.
The order includes 20 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, 25 Boeing 787-10 aircraft, 50 Boeing 737-10 aircraft, and eight Boeing 777-8F freighter aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled in phases, with completion by the end of 2030.
5 Aircraft Families, 20 Years of Maintenance
The purchase aligns with the company's activities following the merger with Asiana Airlines. The airline's investment plan extends into the mid to late 2030s and includes the possibility of delivery delays that may affect the global aviation industry.
