Starting mid-October, the Dreamliner will serve the route between Frankfurt and Toronto, with nine more Dreamliners expected to join by the end of the year - receiving a new aircraft almost every two weeks. In total, Lufthansa has ordered 29 Boeing 787-9 aircraft as part of the largest long-term fleet renewal in its history, which is set to reach 78 new planes equipped with Allegris in the coming years.
Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, said: “I am particularly pleased that we can now offer our Frankfurt passengers the Allegris premium experience. The arrival of the Dreamliner will significantly boost the modernization of our long-haul fleet, utilizing quieter and more fuel-efficient aircraft equipped with the latest technologies.”
The Boeing 787-9 consumes an average of about 2.5 liters of fuel per passenger per 100 km, which is about a 25% savings compared to the previous model.
The Allegris experience offers business class passengers personal suites with high walls, a 27-inch personal screen, a private locker, and a mini-bar. Premium Economy and Tourist classes are already available for booking, and the advanced business class suites will be offered after the model's certification process completion.
Thus, Frankfurt joins Munich, where the Allegris experience has been offered on long-haul flights since summer 2024, with more than half a million passengers having already enjoyed it.
