Expanding the Fleet: As American Airlines prepares to celebrate its 100th birthday, the world’s largest airline has reached a milestone by receiving its 1,000th aircraft. The luxurious Boeing 787-9 with Flagship Suite® seats, recently launched by American, arrived at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on August 29.

"We are excited to expand our fleet, adding more aircraft that offer customers a premium travel experience," said Heather Garboden, American's Chief Customer Officer. "Looking ahead to our next 100 years, we are focused on enhancing and innovating the passenger cabin experience along with every aspect of the customer journey."

Since April, American has received eight luxurious Boeing 787-9 aircraft and has 30 more on order. The aircraft currently operates on routes from Chicago to London Heathrow and Chicago to Los Angeles, as well as Philadelphia to London Heathrow.

With the addition of more premium Boeing 787-9 aircraft to its fleet, American plans to expand the Flagship Suite® product to more flights to Heathrow next year. American will continue to offer the new Boeing 787-9 from Chicago and Philadelphia, as well as from Dallas Fort Worth to various destinations starting in November. Flagship Suite® seats provide customers a luxurious private travel experience, including private doors, wireless charging surfaces, and uniquely comfortable seating arrangements.

Passengers flying in American’s luxurious Flagship Suite® cabin can relax comfortably with duvet blankets, slippers, and a cool-to-the-touch double-sided pillow while refreshing with luxury skincare and grooming products included in American’s carefully designed amenity kits. The Flagship Suite® inflight service offers a chef-inspired multi-course meal paired with award-winning wines and delightful snacks.

American will offer its customers the luxurious travel experience of the Boeing 787-9 on select flights from Dallas Fort Worth to Auckland, New Zealand; Brisbane, Australia; and Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as on the route from Philadelphia to Zurich.
