For the second time in 4 months: Tails of two United planes on the ground at San Francisco International Airport touched each other.
The incident occurred on Monday night, while one of the company's planes was being pushed back from the airport gate before takeoff, and it hit the tail of another parked company plane.
The flights involved were Flight 1871 en route from San Francisco to Denver and Flight 796 headed to Boston.
In response to a query from PassportNews, United stated: "No injuries were sustained, and passengers from both planes disembarked as usual. We ensured that alternative planes took our passengers to their destinations".
It is worth mentioning that less than 4 months ago, on May 6 this year, a similar incident occurred at the same airport. Then, two Boeing 777 planes of United were involved in a minor collision during taxiing from the gate. According to the company's statement, one plane's wing hit another plane belonging to the company while it was moving on the ground.
Not the First Time
Just last month, a similar incident occurred at Manchester Airport when two easyJet planes touched each other on the ground.
It should also be noted that a similar case happened at Ben Gurion Airport in 2018, when a Germania Airlines plane collided on the ground with an El-Al plane.
