During an official visit to Cyprus, Israeli Tourism Minister Haim Katz and his Cypriot counterpart, Kostas Kommis, signed a historic memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation in the tourism sector.
The agreement includes the development of regional joint packages, professional training programs, and initiatives to promote sustainable tourism.
Haim Katz noted that "the historical and warm connection between Israel and Cyprus should also be reflected in tourism.
The agreement is an opportunity to connect the peoples and strengthen the economies of both countries."
Kommis added, "Israeli tourists are very important to Cyprus. Israel is known for its innovation, and sustainability is a critical issue for us. We look forward to close cooperation in this field."
Strengthening ties between Israel and Cyprus: from tourism packages to sustainable initiatives During the visit, Katz also met with senior figures in the local tourism industry, including the President of the Association of Cyprus Travel Agencies (ACTTA) and the CEO of Top Kinisis Travel Agency.
Discussions focused on increasing tourism to Israel through marketing campaigns and integrated tourism packages. Further meetings are expected with the President of the Hoteliers Association and the Chairman of the Paphos Regional Tourism Board.
