BA partnered with Sherpa, the global tech company, to create an online tool and provide customers with the latest travel guidelines for inbound and outbound destinations. The new interactive map brings together the most up-to-date information for over a hundred countries, using millions of data points. The carrier aims to further integrate the map into its website and help passengers understand what is needed for their return flight to the UK.

“This new tool, which has been tried and is trusted by our joint business partner, American Airlines, will help people navigate the differing entry requirements to allow for a smooth booking and travel experience,” said Jack Smith, Head of Digital at British Airways.

Before booking a trip, map users will be able to explore the globe to see what travel restrictions each country has put in place, either searching visually by traffic light color or by typing in their destination. Another important tab allows customers to indicate whether or not they are vaccinated, which will adjust the results.

According to Max Tremaine, CEO of Sherpa, “Supporting the return to travel, we’re honored to be working with the team at British Airways. Together, we are providing their customers with the information they need to make informed booking decisions and travel confidently again.”
