First-ever delegation from Morocco in Israel

The delegation, invited by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, includes senior journalists, bloggers, intellectuals and academics from Morocco. Staying at the Vert Hotel in Jerusalem, they will visit a number of tourist attractions around the country, meeting with senior political figures.

For the first time ever, a special delegation of Moroccan journalists, intellectuals and academics, opinion leaders and bloggers landed in Israel on Sunday, all invited by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation is expected to tour a number of cities in the country and meet with Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and members of the Knesset (Israeli parliament).

The 5-day visit started in Jerusalem, with the delegation expected to visit Haifa and other prominent tourism centers.

Hotel Vert Jerusalem, led by CEO Sheldon Ritz, was chosen to host the delegation and welcome guests. Ritz held a warm reception for the visitors, and some adjustments were made in their honor – from Moroccan media channels on TV in each room, through dedicated prayer areas, to adding Moroccan culinary touches to meals prepared for the special guests.

The delegation was greeted by a Jerusalem band specializing in oriental musical instruments, with baklavas by the hotel chef and tea served on a special tea set.

Later this week, the delegation will move to the Haifa Bayview Hotel and other Israel cities.
