Israeli airlines may soon start flying to Bahrain

Following the understandings reached concerning aviation security issues, and after Israir Airlines has applied to aviation authorities in Bahrain, the carrier is expected to start operating direct flights from Ben Gurion Airport to Manama, starting this Passover

After many months, some understandings were finally reached concerning aviation security issues on flights to Bahrain. Therefore, Israir Airlines is expected to start regular flights to Bahrain as of next month, around Passover.

Israir applied to the Bahraini aviation authorities as early as November 2020, with an official request to operate flights to the Kingdom. Now, with a security clearance in the works, Israir may soon start operating the direct route it has long been after, as we first broke on Passport News in Hebrew.

Bahrain is already attracting much interest among Israeli Arabs, and Israir Airlines is confident the Kingdom will soon become a major destination among Israeli travelers, thanks to an abundance of attractions, great hotels, and rich nightlife.

The aviation agreement signed between Bahrain and Israel allows each of the two countries to operate up to 14 weekly passenger flights between Manama, the capital of Bahrain, and Ben Gurion Airport, up to five weekly cargo flights, as well as unlimited flights between Bahrain and Eilat.
