Putting Kars on the map

A small delegation of Israeli journalists was invited to explore the Kars region in northeastern Turkey. Is this another sign of recovery for outgoing tourism? Passport Group representative reporting

In light of the warming relations between Israel and Turkey and what seems like welcome signs of recovery in outbound tourism from Israel, a small delegation was invited on Sunday to explore the Kars region in northeastern Turkey.

Invited by Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) and Turkish Airlines, the delegation included a Passport Group representative, along with other journalists, suppliers, and content creators.

The goal of this fam trip was to showcase a relatively unknown region of Turkey, known for its history, caucasian traditions, and the ski resort Sarıkamış. The delegation visited Kars town, explored the ancient city of Ani and Çıldır lake, and sampled a bit of local life.

There are two daily flights by Turkish Airlines from TLV to Kars, connecting in Istanbul, either at Sabiha Gokcen Airport or Istanbul International airport, a total of four daily flights.

Coming soon more information, impressions, and photogenic footage of this winter wonderland just waiting for Israeli tourists.
