The ultra-luxury Seabourn Cruise Line got the thumbs-up from the Greek government to restart its operations in the Mediterranean, with a series of round-trips out of Athens beginning July 3, 2021. “We’re grateful to the people of Greece for welcoming Seabourn back to the Mediterranean this summer,” said the company President, Josh Leibowitz.
Seabourn Cruise Line, the pinnacle of ultra-luxury travel and an Official Cruise Partner of UNESCO World Heritage, has been approved by Greece to relaunch its luxury cruises this summer, with Seabourn Ovation setting sail on 7-day cruises exploring beautiful historic ports throughout the Greek Isles. Bookings will start April 12, and passengers will also be able to book longer 14-day voyages, choosing different cruise combinations and ports of call.
One of the 7-day cruises will dock at Agios Nikolaos, Rhodes, Mykonos and Nafplion as well as Limassol, Cyprus; while another will offer guests the opportunity to experience Patmos, Rhodes, Santorini and Spetsai, along with a call at Paphos, Cyprus.
“Seabourn has been visiting Greece for more than 30 years and we look forward to welcoming their ships back to our unique destinations this summer,” said the Greek Minister of Tourism, Mr. Harry Theoharis, commenting on the announcement. “Tourism is a vital part of our economy and our plans place a priority on health and safety to help restore traveler confidence to all. We are sure that once again all your guests will have the best experiences in Greece creating memories to last a lifetime.”
Cruises will be open to all fully vaccinated guests, with a minimum of 14 days following the final dose of the currently approved COVID-19 vaccines being administered. Passengers will also be required to comply with all current health protocols at the time of their departure. There will be additional health measures, under Seabourn’s “Travel Safe” program, including health screening questionnaires, face mask requirements, social distancing and capacity control indoors, as well as enhanced environmental sanitation.
