Earlier this month, Seychelles Tourism Board held a unique event in Tel Aviv, under the heading Discovering more of dreamy Seychelles.
The island country is indeed a favorite and rising destination among Israeli travelers, and the aim was to show just how multi-faceted it is.
As part of the event, senior executives from STB, Bernadette Willemin and Stephanie Lablache, presented Seychelles to Israeli tour operators as a dream-come-true and diverse destination, perfect for honeymooners, families, senior citizens, and nature lovers alike.
The event was also attended by major suppliers who flew in from Seychelles, including hotel chains and leading DMCs, among them HILTON, CREOLE, CONSTANCE hotels and resorts, LUXURY TRAVEL, PURE ESCAPES, 7 SOUTH, and Air Seychelles.
Bernadette Willemin, Director-General of Destination Marketing at STB, said to Passport News: “The Israeli market is very important to us, it is among our top ten markets. We’ve always believed in the potential of the Israeli market. Seychelles is not very far, there’s no significant time difference, and we have a product that appeals to Israelis.
“We are happy to see that the Israeli audience is discovering more and falling even more in love with our country, which offers a variety of dream trips and vacation options. We realize that our visitors, including Israelis, would love to have more experiences when they come to Seychelles, and we are working towards increasing the types of experiences we can offer.”
As part of these efforts, STB is working on expanding the general perception of Seychelles as a sea-and-sun destination with pristine beaches considered among the best in the world, and adding more cultural aspects and hidden gems that will give yet another boost to the tourism industry, from folklore to golfing. Yes, golfing. Seychelles is not well known as a golfing destination, in fact, it has only one 18-hole golf course, but with a breathtaking view like no other!
Another great emphasis is on programs to preserve the environment on the islands, and the Creole way of life. And anyone tired of lounging by the pool on the beach will find lots of hiking in the wild, water sports, kayaking, scuba diving, tortoise feeding, vegetable picking and so much more.
Air Seychelles operates two weekly flights from Tel Aviv to Mahe.
