The Four Seasons Istanbul at Sultanahmet has recently reopened following a massive renovation. The fabulous boutique hotel has welcomed guests since 1996, offering 65 luxurious rooms and suites built around a stunning courtyard, all within walking distance from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia amid the Old Town.
The neoclassical building received a total makeover by the Goddard Littlefair design studio to create a more modern city oasis for “in the know” travelers.
According to co-founder and director Martin Goddard: “Our designers researched styling, pattern, and details from antiques, fabrics, and architecture and distilled these influences through a contemporary filter to create designs that feel completely in tune with the building and its setting.”
The refurbished interior is replete with beautiful tiles, arches, domes, and marble pillars, all synonymous with Turkey’s turn-of-the-century Neoclassical style. The rooms and suites have also been updated, following the same classic design codes. And you can now enjoy a newly-landscaped terrace perfect for some Turkish tea and sweets.
Beeline to the hotel’s courtyard and to AVLU, the new restaurant headed by executive chef Özgür Üstün, serving the best of Anatolian cuisine made from local produce.
The hotel’s famous rooftop is now called Süreyya but still offers jaw-dropping views of the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the city skyline. Another new addition is a bar called Lingo Lingo, a more intimate dining spot.
And last but not least, the marble-lined spa features locally-inspired offerings, with a traditional Turkish barber and an authentic Turkish hammam, a beauty salon and a well-appointed gym.
To celebrate the summer reopening of the hotel, Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet offers guests a “welcome back” package that includes 10% off room rates for two (for a minimum three-night stay). The deal also consists of credit worth €100 per stay, valid from August 1 through September 30.
