flydubai expands in Romania: direct flights to Dubai now also available from Iasi.
flydubai has launched a new route between Dubai and the city of Iasi in Romania, becoming the first airline from the Emirates to offer direct flights to the city. The new route, operating twice a week, joins the existing route to Bucharest, increasing the airline's presence in the Romanian market to two destinations.
Simultaneously, flydubai announced an increase in flight frequency to Bucharest to three times a day, carrying the total number of weekly flights between Dubai and Romania to 21.

Jeyhun Efendi, Commercial Senior Vice President at flydubai: “Romania is an important market for us. Since 2012, we have seen steady growth in demand, and in recent years, an average increase of 16% in passengers on the route to Dubai.”
Romeo Vatra, CEO of Iasi Airport: “The launch of the direct route to Dubai is a significant milestone that reinforces Iasi’s status as an international gateway to the Moldova region. We welcome the collaboration with flydubai and believe it will benefit passengers and the local economy.”
The city of Iasi, considered the cultural capital of Romania, offers visitors a series of impressive sites, including the Palace of Culture, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Vasile Alecsandri Theater, which is the oldest national theater in the country.
This move is part of the airline's expansion in Europe, marked by the inauguration of a new route to Chișinău in Moldova last week, with December plans for Vilnius (Lithuania) and Riga (Latvia).
