Air Canada Launches Year-Round Route. After a challenging month of strikes and chaos in the air, Canadian flag carrier Air Canada returns to normalcy by announcing a new year-round route that has not been previously active.
Direct flights from Canada's capital, Ottawa, to London Heathrow will continue through the winter of 2025-26, turning into a permanent route for all seasons.
"Air Canada continues to strengthen service in the capital, and we are excited to keep Ottawa connected to one of the world's important gateways year-round. Both business and leisure customers will enjoy the ease and convenience of this route," the company said, adding, "In today's global landscape, strong ties between Canada's capital and strategic markets like the UK are more essential than ever."
Photo: AIR CANADA During winter, three weekly flights are expected on this route, with an additional flight planned for the summer season of 2026.
Flight schedule:
Ottawa to London: Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday at 21:55 (departure time), landing in London the next day at 09:20
London to Ottawa: Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:00 (departure time), landing in Ottawa at 14:30
Flight duration: approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes
Additionally, Ottawa's airport will operate 450 weekly international and domestic flights during the winter.
