Flight disruptions at Milan airports. The strikes in Italy, triggered by public sector workers' support for events in Gaza, continue today, September 26.
Following intense protests condemned by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni that took place mainly in Milan and Rome at the beginning of the week, public sector workers in Milan are striking today, Friday, September 26.
According to Milan Malpensa Airport's announcement, the strike is partial, but delays and flight cancellations are expected throughout the day. The airport's flight schedule already shows many cancellations of intra-European flights, including to Spain, Germany, and France.
They further mention that delays in luggage delivery are also to be expected due to the participation of handling workers in the strike, which is expected to last until tomorrow, September 27. Malpensa Airport advises passengers to check their flight status with the airlines.
