Etihad Airways continues its impressive global expansion, announcing the return of one of the most sought-after destinations: Zanzibar.
From June 14 to September 6, 2026, the company will operate four weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Zanzibar, utilizing Airbus A320s equipped with both business and economy classes to ensure maximum comfort on medium-haul flights.
30th Destination of the Year - Part of Global Expansion
Zanzibar is the 30th destination announced by Etihad Airways this year, following Palma de Mallorca, Damascus, or Toronto, highlighting the company’s impressive expansion pace and its aspiration to deepen its global presence. The decision to resume the route is explained by the high demand for the exotic destination during summer, alongside the strengthening of the company’s European route network, allowing efficient and convenient connectivity to Abu Dhabi. Etihad's two major European "banks" ensure optimal connections for travelers from across Europe and the Gulf.

From famous beaches and colorful markets to rich history and culture, it has something for everyone. We know it's a destination our guests have been waiting for, and we're pleased to be the ones connecting them to this unique paradise."
Zanzibar, part of the Tanzanian archipelago, is renowned for its UNESCO World Heritage site, Stone Town, its spice plantations, and some of the world's most stunning white beaches. Travelers can choose between diving in coral reefs, exploring ancient narrow streets, or taking safari excursions in nearby Africa, offering an ideal combination of beach holiday and safari adventure.
