The United Kingdom advises against non-essential travel to the Thailand-Cambodia border, including Ko Chang.

On Friday, October 10, 2025, the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) released an update to the travel warning for Thailand, which includes stricter guidelines concerning the eastern border of the country.

According to the announcement, the UK advises its citizens to avoid all non-essential travel within 50 kilometers of the Cambodia border, including the island of Ko Chang and nearby islands. The warning is similar to the one issued by Washington at the end of July.

This guidance adds to previous warnings issued by the British office in areas adjacent to the southern border with Malaysia due to repeated attacks by armed groups.

It is also recommended to follow updates on the official FCDO website and subscribe to email alerts for changes in warnings.
