According to an official report from Protección Civil Jalisco, a failure in the ship's pump system caused water to enter the hull, leading to the ship's sinking.

Fortunately, all crew members were safely rescued, and the ship was not carrying passengers at the time of the incident. The event occurred amid high waves and strong winds caused by Tropical Storm Raymond.
