All the Culinary News - On the new PassportNews WhatsApp Channel
London may be crowded, cold, and expensive, but you can't ignore its vast array of tasty and cool places to eat and drink. It's one of the more diverse cities culinary-wise and one of the best cities to go out for a drink.
The combination of British traditions and foreign influences has created a fascinating and delicious food culture that can't be captured in one article or a hundred articles, and I can't claim to tell you the best, because there is truly a huge abundance here.
So here are 6 cool and tasty things to do in London that you might not have known about and are highly recommended to try.
Singapulah | Singaporean Restaurant
A particularly small and colorful restaurant located in the Soho area and owned by a group of restaurateurs responsible for several Asian successes worldwide and in England. Singapulah brings you right into the pots and dishes of Singapore, with all the color and strange names.
The design is between a street food stall and a cool restaurant, a lot of color, a whole wall full of Singaporean products that the place sells, including cookbooks and even alcohol.
The menu is massive, as expected from an Asian restaurant, and includes plenty of dumplings, soups like the famous laksa, rice dishes, special noodles, and amazing desserts alongside unique cocktails and drinks. Like many Asian restaurants, it's best to come with several people so you can taste many dishes. There's plenty of vegan options.
What to eat? Kueh Pie Tee - crispy dumplings with shrimp, Singaporean laksa, and durian ice cream.

Graffiti and Sweets Tour | London Lady
One of the hottest recommendations I have for you! A crazy tour full of humor, color, and sweets, led by Or Shif known as London Lady, a very hyperactive Israeli who moved to London with her husband and kids. Or thrillingly and humorously leads a fascinating graffiti tour in Shoreditch, undoubtedly the trendiest neighborhood in London today, with more street art than anywhere else in London.
In the tour, you'll not only see amazing artwork but also mainly hear the cool stories behind them and the artists who created them. Or realized that to keep people interested in the cold London weather for 3 hours, she had to give them some energy, so she incorporated stops at sweet and cool stations into the tour, from the best donuts in town to a crazy chocolate hall to a place making huge and wildly tasty cookies.
Or herself works a lot for the situation in Israel and to promote the return of the captives, collaborating on the issue in the graffiti world as well. It's an amazing tour! The price is 45 pounds for adults and 25 pounds for children under 12. She's available on Instagram and also on WhatsApp, and she's a real sweetheart.

The Noodle Inn
Two things characterize The Noodle Inn (from the house of the famous Kung Fu Noodles), one is the endless line outside the place, and the other is the amount of noodles on the plate. The Noodle Inn is one of the tastiest and most recommended places for Chinese noodles, but many skip it because of the wait. I just sat for a drink at the Negroni bar across the street (highly recommended) and simply waited to see when the line calmed down before I went to stand in the cold like everyone else.
It's not hard to understand what this place specializes in, but the real show is in the quality and generous portion sizes served with every dish. The open kitchen located in the center of the restaurant is its beating heart, with all the noodles made to order! It's a fascinating experience watching them prepare all kinds of noodles so mesmerizingly. For a moment, you'll feel like you've stepped into an episode of Gidi and Aharoni.
The menu is vast and full of numerous noodle and soup dishes, dumplings, and even an amazing Chinese burger. It's easy to get confused, and the waiters don't always have the patience to explain, so it might be worth a moment to glance around and try to understand what's going on with the menu.
The most well-known dish is beef rib on the bone with wide noodles in a hot chili oil with vegetables. Another great dish is the noodle soup that comes in crazy quantities, and no less tasty are the chicken gyoza and Sichuan wontons, in short, come very hungry.

Sweet Tea Time | THE DILLY
In the city center, you'll find one of the more magical hotels - The Dilly by Fattal (THE DILLY), currently awash with twinkling lights and Christmas trees. The Dilly is considered an especially luxurious five-star hotel, and in addition to an intimate bar highly recommended for sitting with great drinks and an amazing Indian restaurant, The Dilly is known for its tea time, which besides culinary delights, also boasts an elevated view of all of London.
The Dilly's tea time is held daily from 12:30 to 16:30 and includes a charming tray in the shape of a red double-decker bus, with various sandwiches, sweet and savory scones, butter, cream, and jam, and the big attraction - 4 chocolate desserts in the shape of London's iconic symbols, from the bridge to Big Ben, combining salty caramel, Baileys, and hazelnuts with chocolate.
Of course, this delightful experience comes with a pot of tea and even a glass of bubbly.
How much does all this pleasure cost? 49 pounds per adult, and a vegan menu is also available.

The Hidden Rooftop | Sabine Rooftop Bar
Not many know about this amazing rooftop in the middle of London, which makes it especially attractive.
Sabine is a bar-restaurant located on the rooftop of the St. Paul Hotel (by Fattal), combining a crazy view of London, fun food, and great cocktails for a really cool urban experience. The entire rooftop is surrounded by greenery and looks like a hidden botanical garden, offering an amazing view of the Cathedral and all of London, and you'll never want to come down. This is your chance to enjoy a gin and tonic or one of the place's special cocktails with some great bite-sized dishes (the gnocchi is amazing!) and experience London in a different way.
The venue also offers a British tea time in the middle of the day, including sandwiches, desserts, and scones alongside drinks, and in the evening, you can enjoy a light menu combining Mexican and Mediterranean alongside classic cocktails.

Israeli-London Bite | Claro
You need a bit of Israeli pride even in London, and this recommendation is not just because it's an Israeli restaurant but mainly because it's an excellent restaurant.
Claro London is the new and elegant branch of Claro Tel Aviv.
The place is a combination of Israeli and local cuisine, which means you can find here great bites like roasted kohlrabi with feta cheese alongside roasted local vegetables not found in our market or amazing fish like the sole in lemon butter.
Claro is an excellent chef restaurant with reasonable pricing providing a gourmet experience at a great price. Don't miss the fig Negroni available here, and of course, the desserts, which have always been an amazing part of Claro. Go to support but also to enjoy.
