At the traditional steel-cutting ceremony at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, cruise giant Royal Caribbean announced the start of construction on its seventh Oasis Class ship.
The ship, which has not yet been named, has officially entered its development process ahead of its launch scheduled for 2028.
"The seventh ship in the series is expected to offer extraordinary experiences, from excitement and adventure to relaxing experiences, ways to eat, drink, and celebrate, spectacular entertainment, and more details to be revealed later," Royal Caribbean notes in an announcement.
Royal Caribbean is part of the Royal Caribbean Group (NYSE: RCL), which has been on the market for more than 50 years, operating cruises to more than 300 destinations in 80 countries on all 7 continents, including the private destination Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.
In May, Royal Caribbean unveiled Perfect Day Mexico, its most innovative and ambitious destination to date, set to open in fall 2027.
