Arkia returns to Lisbon.

The Israeli airline resumed direct flights from Tel Aviv to the Portuguese capital on Monday, October 27.

The company announced the line's renewal back in August, and it is now officially underway with the inaugural flight taking off from Ben Gurion Airport after a nine-year hiatus.

The route to Lisbon, considered one of Arkia's longest to Europe, will resume twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. The company will operate the flights using the latest Airbus A321neo aircraft, considered the most advanced of their kind in the world.

These aircraft are equipped with a paid Wi-Fi system offering three browsing options ($5, $10, and $15), allowing passengers to enjoy a comfortable experience on a flight lasting approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes.

"Arkia's return to flying to Lisbon, after years of hiatus, is further proof that we are attentive to customers and the high demand for one of the most beloved destinations for Israelis," noted Arkia chief executive officer Oz Berlowitz, adding: "This time we are returning to the destination with one of the most advanced aircraft in the world, which will allow us to provide passengers with a pleasant, high-quality and particularly comfortable flight experience."
