Delta Air Lines presents Delta Comfort Basic. The new travel option is designed for passengers seeking extra legroom and the benefits of Delta Comfort at a lower price. The offering went on sale on November 6 in select markets for travel starting November 19.

The fresh option, part of the airline’s Comfort product line, which also includes Comfort Classic and Comfort Extra, gives travelers a way to enjoy a more premium experience without the higher cost and added flexibility of the higher-tier Comfort options.

“Delta Comfort Basic is designed for customers who want the extra legroom and premium onboard experience of Delta Comfort, but at a lower price point, and with a few familiar restrictions,” a Delta spokesperson said.

Passengers who will opt for Comfort Basic will benefit from he same perks as other Comfort fares, including more legroom, dedicated overhead bin space, Zone 3 boarding, and complimentary wine, beer, and spirits on most flights.

Seats will be assigned after check-in, which means travelers who prioritize seat selection or need more flexibility might prefer Comfort Classic or Extra. Comfort Basic fares, like Delta Main Basic, are also not eligible for upgrades.

Delta notes that Comfort Basic differs from Main Basic in several ways. While both assign seats after check-in and are subject to change or cancel fees, Comfort Basic offers more legroom, earlier boarding, access to Delta Sky Club (with valid credentials), the ability to earn Medallion Qualification Dollars and SkyMiles, complimentary drinks, and dedicated overhead bin space. Main Basic does not include these benefits.

The new fare is only available on select domestic Delta-marketed and operated flights. Delta explained that the November 19 launch date gives operational teams time to prepare and ensures passengers know what to expect. Comfort Basic tickets cannot be purchased with SkyMiles and are available only as revenue tickets, unlike Main Basic, which can be booked with miles.

Customers can check availability and book through Delta.com or the Delta mobile app.
