New Delhi Car Explosion Prompts Authorities to Raise Security Alert

A powerful car explosion occurred on Monday night (November 10) near the “Lal Qila” (Red Fort) metro station in central New Delhi, one of the city’s most historic and touristic spots. According to local media reports, the explosion caused injuries. Their number and condition have not yet been officially announced.

The causes of the explosion are unknown at this time, and Indian police have launched a comprehensive investigation. Following the incident, the Indian government declared a high alert in several districts across the country, fearing further incidents.

A warning issued by the US Embassy in India stated that authorities were handling the incident, while advising people to avoid crowds and the area surrounding the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk in Delhi. It also recommended closely monitoring local media for updates, being aware of one's surroundings, and staying alert in locations frequented by tourists.

The Red Fort is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a national symbol in India, and is a major focus for tourists and visitors from all over the world.
