Air Transat adds new routes to summer 2026 schedule. The leading travel brand voted "2025 World's Best Leisure Airline" at the Skytrax World Airline Awards has announced it will add two new non-stop routes from Montreal for next summer.

The company will add Dakar in Senegal and Reykjavik in Iceland to its network while also boosting service to Valencia after the route proved more popular than expected when it launched in 2025.

“We are proud to be the only Canadian airline connecting Canada to Sub-Saharan Africa,” said Sebastian Ponce, Transat's Chief Revenue Officer. “This new flight between Montreal and Dakar responds to a strong connection: that of the Senegalese diaspora in Quebec and travellers eager to discover Senegal's rich culture. By offering this non-stop route, we are making travel easier for those who, until now, had to take long layovers in Europe. We are also bringing together two open, warm, and welcoming cultures.”

The Montreal–Dakar flights begin June 17 and run through October 21, 2026. They’ll operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, giving travellers direct access to both cultural travel and the fast-growing coastal tourism scene.

Reykjavik joins the schedule a day earlier, on June 16, with flights running until September 27, 2026. Air Transat will offer up to two flights a week, on Tuesdays and Sundays, making it easier for Canadians to plan summer trips to Iceland’s hot springs, volcanoes, and national parks.

Valencia also gets a bump. From June 16 to September 8, 2026, Air Transat will add a second weekly flight, operating on Tuesdays and Fridays. The route has seen strong demand since its debut, thanks to Valencia’s mix of beaches, architecture, and an easygoing Mediterranean atmosphere.

Altogether, the airline now has more than 45 international destinations planned for summer 2026, with more additions expected. Air Transat states that this growth is supported by the flexibility of its Airbus fleet and the experience it has gained over nearly four decades of flying.

The Montreal-based company has major hubs at the YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport and Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) and employs 5,000 people "with a common purpose to bring people closer together".
