Big changes are coming to Air Canada flights.

The Canadian airline has announced it will roll out its biggest cabin refresh to date. The impressive project will touch nearly every corner of its North American network with the goal of making passengers’ experiences feel familiar and genuinely comfortable, no matter which brand they might be flying.

"A Sense of Comfort, Care, and Pride"

The plan includes new interiors, updated technology, and changes based on what customers and employees say would make the biggest difference. One of the headline updates is the expansion of fast, free Wi-Fi across the fleet, supported by Bell.

“When customers step onto an Air Canada aircraft, they should instantly feel a sense of comfort, care, and pride,” said Mark Nasr, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at Air Canada. “Supported by award-winning service from co-workers across the company, this renewal program is about delivering that feeling consistently, across every flight. Whether traveling for business, leisure, or something in between, every update is designed with our customers in mind. Notably, this program includes an entirely new Air Canada Rouge product with cutting-edge in-flight entertainment, Fast, Free Wi-Fi, and seats that recline for all customers.”

One of the biggest changes involves Air Canada Rouge. All Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft currently flying under the mainline brand will shift to Rouge by 2026. These cabins will feature a mix of Business Class, Preferred Economy, and Standard Economy seating, all with personal entertainment screens and free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan Members. Rouge will also open a base in Vancouver, giving travelers in Western Canada more options for leisure routes.

On the mainline side, Air Canada is upgrading every Airbus A320 and A321 with new seats, refreshed décor, updated entertainment screens, and faster Wi-Fi. The look follows the airline’s newer design style, which aims to feel modern and warm without being flashy. Fifteen A321s have already been completed.

The Airbus A220 fleet will keep growing as well. Air Canada has 26 more on the way, with the next deliveries, including XL overhead bins, arriving from March 2026. The aircraft, built in Quebec, are already popular for their quieter cabins and roomier feel.

Regional passengers won’t be left out. Air Canada Express planes, including the Embraer E175 and Mitsubishi CRJ-900, will adopt the new cabin standard starting in 2026. Fast, free Wi-Fi is already active on more than half the fleet. The previously announced Dash 8-400 upgrades are also underway.

To top it off, all Air Canada, Rouge, and Express flights across North America will now offer complimentary beer, wine, and snacks. Options include Canadian-made items like MadeGood bars, TWIGZ pretzels, and Leclerc cookies, served with a choice of drinks to make the trip feel a little more relaxed.
