UK's national flag carrier, British Airways, has announced the addition of two new destinations to its short-haul schedule, giving travelers more options for 2026. The airline will start flying to Tivat, Montenegro, and Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, expanding what’s already a busy route map out of London Heathrow.

The Montenegro service will begin on May 14, 2026, from Heathrow Terminal 3 and will run all throughout the summer season. Guernsey will feature a year-round connection to Heathrow starting April 19, 2026. The link has been on many travelers’ wish lists for years, and British Airways strongly believes it will attract both holidaymakers and business travelers.

Neil Chernoff, the airline’s Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, said: “We’re pleased to be expanding our route map with the addition of two new routes for customers to explore, bringing the total number of our Heathrow short-haul network to nearly 100 destinations.

“Montenegro is an ideal choice for those seeking stunning coastlines and year-round sunshine, and the addition of Guernsey is something we know our customers have been eagerly awaiting. As the only direct service between Heathrow and Guernsey, the route will offer conveniently timed connections to more than 20 European destinations, providing greater choice and flexibility for both leisure and business travelers alike.”

Tivat fits well into British Airways’ summer schedule. Montenegro’s coastline and mountain scenery draw millions of visitors each year, and places like Kotor and Budva often appear on must-see lists for anyone exploring the Adriatic. MONSTAT reported 2.6 million tourist arrivals in 2024, with most visitors coming from abroad, indicating the strong demand already. BA will fly the route three times a week, with return fares starting at £172.

Guernsey offers a different kind of break. The island is known for its cliff paths, quiet bays, and long history, from Castle Cornet to the art-inspired Renoir Walk. British Airways will operate the only direct Heathrow–Guernsey service, using Terminal 5 for the daily flights. The schedule is set up to make onward connections straightforward, with links to major European cities such as Rome and Madrid, as well as US destinations including New York and Los Angeles. Fares start at £101 return.

Flight schedules:

London Heathrow (LHR) → Guernsey (GCI) – BA1344

Both new routes will include the Club Europe option for travelers who want lounge access, extra space, and a full meal on board. The additions come as British Airways continues to grow its network, following recent launches to St. Louis, Graz, and Rabat.
