According to the airport's official data, between January and November 2025, a total of 31,684,832 passengers passed through Athens Airport, marking a 6.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
The most interesting statistic of all is the comparison to the fact that, throughout 2024, 31,854,758 passengers passed through the airport. This means that, based on the passenger rate, the airport's all-time passenger record will have been broken by the time the data is published (December 9, 2025).
Between January and November 2025, 22.6 million passengers passed through the airport on international flights (compared to 20.9 million in 2024), and another 9 million on domestic flights (compared to 8.8 million in 2024).

One of the surprising figures that also made the record-breaking event certain is the increase in passenger numbers in November. The past month saw one of the most notable increases since the beginning of the year: 11.5% in the number of passengers on international flights compared to last year, and another 5% increase in the number of passengers on domestic flights.
On an overall average, this is a 9.6% increase in the number of passengers for the month of November, which until now was not considered a tourist month in the country due to the cold season, which is turning out to be decidedly hot.
Aircraft Movement
The numbers for aircraft movements at Athens Airport are also very good. In the first 11 months of the year, the airport recorded approximately 160,000 international aircraft movements, compared to 147,000 in the same period last year, an increase of 8.8%.
There is no change in domestic aircraft movements. In the first 11 months of the year, approximately 104,000 aircraft movements were recorded on domestic flights, compared to approximately 103,000 in the same period last year, a negligible increase of approximately 1.1%.
The summary of international and domestic aircraft movements at Athens Airport finally recorded a nice increase of 5.6% compared to the same period last year
With tourism to Greece breaking records, it appears an all-time record has been set for flights to the country's largest and most important airport, the one in the capital, Athens (Eleftherios Venizelos), before the end of the year.
