Oceania Cruises is changing direction: All cruises will become Adults-Only for ages 18 and up.
One of the world's leading and most prestigious cruise lines, Oceania Cruises, has announced an official transition to an Adults-Only model, under which it will only accommodate passengers aged 18 and over on all new bookings for future cruises.
The new policy, which took effect on January 7, 2026, represents a significant strategic shift for the brand, known for offering a relaxed cruising experience, top-notch cuisine, and destination-rich itineraries.
The company clarifies that all reservations made before this date, including those involving passengers under 18, will be honored in full as part of a gradual, considerate transition for existing customers and travel agents.
“Passengers Asked and We Are Listening”
Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer, Oceania Cruises, said: “Our guests have consistently shared that the tranquil environment aboard our ships is one of the primary reasons they return time and time again. By transitioning to an adults-only experience, we are enhancing the very essence of the Oceania Cruises journey, one defined by sophistication, serenity and discovery."
According to him, the move is intended to enhance the cruise experience and allow guests to enjoy an intimate environment, meticulous service, and genuine connections among passengers with similar interests.
Research and Audience Preferences
Oceania Cruises notes that the decision was made after extensive research that included feedback from returning travelers, travel agents, and new customers. The findings consistently showed that the company’s target audience, mature, affluent travelers, choose it for its quiet, relaxed pace, elegant service, and cultural character. The move fits into the brand’s strategy and familiar slogan: "Your World. Your Way.® – total freedom to explore, taste, and sail at your own pace."
