The ongoing riots in Iran, which bring tens of thousands to the streets every day, are also affecting air activity in the region.

According to the official takeoff and landing schedules at Istanbul and Dubai airports, at least three airlines canceled all flights to various destinations in Iran today, January 9, 2026, including flights to Tehran's main airport.

According to airport schedules, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, and FlyDubai have canceled all flights to destinations in the country today, with departures scheduled for tomorrow.

The cancellations are due to ongoing protests in Iran that have lasted about two weeks, which have gathered tens of thousands of demonstrators enraged by the country's rising food prices, as well as the prices of water and electricity against the Iranian regime into the streets.
