Air India unveils new alcohol experience on its flights.
India's national airline has launched a new alcohol menu on its international flights, with a selection of luxury wines and spirits from around the world.
The new alcohol experience brings a series of innovations, including a regional wine menu tailored to flight destinations, the introduction of tequila on flights, a first for the Indian airline industry, and sommelier-style training of flight crews to provide personalized recommendations to passengers. The new menu features a mix of classic wines and innovative and rare labels, including Rampur Double Cask Indian whiskey and 1800 Reserva Anjo tequila from Mexico.
For the first time in the airline's history, Premium Economy passengers will receive a glass of Prosecco right after takeoff. For Economy Class, the company chose to put the emphasis on a selection of high-quality and accessible choices, including Bordeaux wines, Bombay Sapphire gin, Absolut vodka, Caribbean rum, and Heineken beer.
First Class will feature a luxury experience including Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs champagne, 21-year-old Aberfeldy whiskey, Hennessy VSOP cognac and luxury wines from Italy and France. Business Class will feature brands such as Japanese Roku Gin, Bottega Gold Prosecco and fine Bordeaux wines.
As part of the move, the company is also introducing a wine pairing menu for the main courses, featuring wines from several countries, carefully selected for optimal pairings with international and Indian cuisine.
“The thoughtfully curated beverage portfolio brings together some of the finest wines and spirits to appeal to global travellers as Air India continues its focus on driving service excellence and customer-centricity. Paired with the newly revamped international menu, the newly curated beverage menu seeks to provide guests with a dining journey crafted with care and passion, elevating the overall inflight experience,” said Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Air India.
It should be noted that Air India recently launched a new menu on its flights, based on Indian cuisine in all its varieties, alongside international dishes with Asian and European inspiration.
