Following Air Pressure Incident: Embraer E175, at the Heart of an FAA Investigation

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation after an Embraer E175 aircraft experienced an air compression problem while flying in western Washington state

Horizon Air Flight 2154, a subsidiary of Alaska Airlines, returned safely to Snohomish County Airport in Everett, Washington, shortly after takeoff last week.

According to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the incident occurred at around 10:15 a.m. (local time) on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. The flight crew reported an air pressure problem to the control tower.

The Embraer E175 was en route to San Diego International Airport. The FAA said it would investigate the incident and asked passengers to contact the airline for more information.
