Alaska Airlines announces largest aircraft order in the company's history.
The company placed an order for 110 new aircraft from Boeing, in what is being described as the largest aircraft order in the company's history. The order includes 105 737-10s and five 787 wide-body aircraft, along with an option for 35 additional aircraft of the same model, with delivery dates extending through 2035.
The move increases Alaska's order backlog from Boeing to 245 aircraft, in addition to the 94 MAX aircraft already in service. The order is designed to balance growth with the replacement of older aircraft, and is expected to maintain one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the industry.
The company's fleet currently includes 413 aircraft, and is expected to grow to more than 475 aircraft by 2030 and over 550 aircraft by 2035. Alaska already operates 737-8 and 737-9 aircraft, and the current order focuses on the 737-10 model, while maintaining flexibility for future adjustments.

Alaska’s future 787 fleet will consist of 17 aircraft, with five already in service. All five new aircraft are expected to be 787-10s.
As part of its global expansion, Alaska Airlines has already begun selling tickets for flights from Seattle to London Heathrow, Rome, Reykjavik, Tokyo, and Seoul. At the same time, the company unveiled a new brand design that will appear on Dreamliner aircraft on international routes, while narrow-body aircraft will continue to carry the familiar "Alaska image."
As a reminder, at the end of 2023, Alaska Airlines acquired Hawaiian Airlines for approximately $1.9 billion.
