Royal Caribbean announced that its new flagship, LEGEND OF THE SEAS, will set sail on its maiden voyage in the Mediterranean on July 4, 2026, earlier than planned. LEGEND is the third in the company's Icon series, defined as the world's most advanced ship series.
The ship, which is described as the largest ever built, will offer a unique cruise experience with a host of innovative attractions, including a huge water park, themed activity areas, water slides, pools, a basketball court, a kids' club, and a selection of restaurants, pubs, and cafes.
To celebrate the ship's launch, Royal Caribbean is offering special prices. For example, a seven-night cruise in the western Mediterranean, including stops in Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Florence, will cost from $2,109 per person in a double room.
The cruises will depart from Rome and Barcelona.

From the summer of 2026, families will be able to enjoy an extraordinary cruise experience on Royal Caribbean's Icon series ship. For the first time, a ship of this size will sail the Mediterranean close to home with departures from Rome and Barcelona."
The cruises are available for booking through Sanorama and travel agents.
