Low-cost airline Wizz Air announced a proactive shutdown of some of its digital services, due to a planned system upgrade aimed at improving customer experience.
According to the company's announcement, starting at midnight between Wednesday and Thursday (GMT, February 25-26, 2026), and continuing until 7:00 am (GMT) on February 26, it will not be possible to access the company's website or application. Plus, a number of online actions will also be restricted.
During the maintenance window, the following actions will not be possible: booking new flights, changing existing reservations, checking in online and presenting boarding passes, using the booking functions in the app, redeeming vouchers, and services related to the personal account.
Service centers will also not be able to handle new or changed orders, but will continue to provide general information.
The company emphasizes that flight operations will continue as usual, and passengers who have already completed check-in or downloaded their boarding pass are not expected to be affected.
How to Prepare in Advance
The company urges passengers to complete online check-in and download or save their boarding pass by 9:00 pm (GMT) tomorrow, February 25. It is also recommended to make new reservations or modify existing ones in advance, as these actions will not be possible during the shutdown.
Passengers who are unable to check in online due to the scheduled upgrade will be able to check in at the airport free of charge. The company also recommends arriving at the airport at least three hours before the scheduled departure time to allow sufficient time for security checks and local procedures.
