Low-cost carrier Wizz Air announced two new direct lines for the summer 2026 season: a line from Warsaw, Poland, to Burgas, Bulgaria, and another line from Katowice, Poland, to Comiso, Sicily, Italy.
The Katowice to Comiso route will start operating on July 8, 2026, twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays, with a one-way fare of €21. Comiso, in southeastern Sicily, offers access to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Val di Noto, as well as the cities of Ragusa, Modica, and Noto, and the island's Mediterranean coast.

Photo: Shutterstock The Warsaw-Burgas route will take off for the first time on July 21, 2026, and will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with a one-way fare starting at €26. Burgas is considered one of Bulgaria's main summer destinations and serves as a gateway to the Black Sea coast. The city is a base for departure to nearby resorts, including Sunny Beach and Nessebar, along with lakes and parks in the area.
Photo: Shutterstock With this, Wizz Air continues to significantly expand its operations in Poland. From Warsaw Radom, the company operates three routes, to Larnaca, Tirana and now also to Burgas. From Katowice Airport, the company operates 37 routes to 20 countries, including destinations in Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Malta and Iceland.
Towards the summer of 2026, the company is expected to operate its largest flight schedule from Katowice, with eight aircraft based at the airport, six Airbus A321neo and two A320ceo, and increase the seat supply.
Currently, the company operates 234 routes from Poland to 32 countries, using a fleet of 38 aircraft based in Poland. In 2025, the company operated over 68,000 flights from Poland and carried more than 14.5 million passengers. In the winter season of 2025, over 7 million seats are available for sale nationwide.
