Until February 25: Warsaw's Main Airport Runway Is Temporarily Closed

Due to maintenance work, all takeoffs and landings at Chopin Airport are being conducted on runway 3; completion of the work is expected on February 25, 2026

Warsaw Chopin Airport (Lotnisko Chopina w Warszawie) updated today (Tuesday, February 24, 2026) that runway 1, marked 11-29, has been temporarily closed for ongoing technical work.

According to airport management, all air activity is now being carried out on runway number 3, marked 15-33, on the Bemowo-Włochy-Piaseczno route. The decision is intended to allow the work to be carried out while maintaining the airport's safety and operational infrastructure.

The airport emphasizes that this is planned maintenance work and that all operations are carried out to ensure the high level of safety of the facilities and runways.

The work on Route 1 is expected to be completed by Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
