The "Global Residence Program" ranking by the Henley & Partners rating company once again ranks Greece as the country to which the largest number of citizens worldwide want to move, seeking a long-term residence visa.
The annual ranking includes a variety of indicators, including quality of life, global status, taxes, requirements for investors interested in a visa, the length of the procedure, and requirements, and entry for family members even without a visa.
As mentioned, Greece takes first place in the annual ranking with an overall score of 73 points. Second place is occupied by not one, not two, but three countries: Italy, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates, with a score of 72 points each.

In fourth place, the ranking also placed two countries, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom while Costa Rica came in fifth, Panama and Singapore in sixth, New Zealand in seventh, Malta in eight, and Saudi Arabia closing the list of the 10 most wanted countries for residency permits.

It should be noted that Greece is not in first place for the first time in the ranking, and it also took the top spot last year. This is despite the fact that the conditions for obtaining the Golden Visa have been tightened in the last two years. If in the past it was very easy to obtain the coveted visa, today the investment required in most regions of Greece to obtain it has risen to hundreds of thousands of euros, and in some regions even more than 400,000 euros.
