British Airways announced that it is currently unable to operate flights from several destinations in the region, including Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai and Tel Aviv.

The company said it remains in close contact with both customers and colleagues affected by the disruption and continues to take steps to support them during this period.

The British carrier also acknowledged that some passengers are currently in Oman, where the airspace remains open. In coordination with the relevant authorities, the airline has scheduled a flight from Muscat to London, set to depart at 02:30 local time on March 5.

"If you are currently in Oman and wish to travel on this flight, please contact us via our dedicated phone line on +44 203 467 3854. We expect there to be significant interest, so therefore we will assign seats on a first-come, first-served basis."

The airline further advised customers to follow the latest safety guidance issued by local authorities and the UK Foreign Office. Travelers are urged not to go to the airport unless they have a confirmed booking.

In a previous update on March 3, the airline informed passengers scheduled to fly between London Heathrow and Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, or Tel Aviv up to and including March 15 that they can change their flight date with no extra fees added, "to travel on or before March 29."

Moreover, passengers "travelling up to and including 8 March may also request a full refund in Manage My Booking."

Passengers due to travel between London and Larnaca up to and including  March 15 may also change their flight date for free "to travel on or before March 29."

Customers booked to travel to these destinations up to and including 15 March can change their booking to a different route and travel until 29 March. There’s no change fee, but a fare difference will apply.

All other flights are continuing to operate as normal. Please check your flight status for the latest information before you travel.
